|The purpose of the assignment is to plan, design and manage an energy refurbishment making the property suitable for leisure and at the same time minimising future energy consumption when in use (e.g. energy consumption for heating, hot water, lightning etc.)|

|Energy for heating, hot water, lightning etc in existing as well as new buildings accounts for about 40% of all energy consumption in the EU. Efforts for reducing energy consumption in buildings have until now primarily been setting higher standards for new construction. Given that new constructions add just 0.5-1% to the building stock, reduction of energy consumption in existing buildings is now on the EU Agenda.|

|A new EU Directive to be enforced primo 2013, demands that 3% of the Public building stock in all EU will be energy optimized each year.|

|Solar Glass Envelop|
|Transparent conductive oxide glass, is a kind of glass coated with transparent conductive oxide film.
For the renovation of an old building we use it as double skin facade that will protect the existing
structure from the weather conditions, but it will be also creating energy and accumulating heat
that will be transfered to the inside and make better the thermal performance of the building.
The penetration of air in the ventilated system will be controlled electronically by the users inside.|

|ASSIGNMENT|

|Design an attractive office building on the place of an existing residential block in Copenhagen – Islands Brygge.|
|Explore sustainable solutions and work with the sunshade system.|

|PROJECT DESCRIPTION|

|Office building Islands Brygge is unique with its specially developed steel louver façade. The ramification façade is independent structurally from the external curtain walls. The pattern that wraps the building works not only as main architectural feature, but also as complex sunshade system that can be controlled on the different floors independently. The roof and the western façade of the buildings are green, but keep the ramification of the faced continued. The park that is on the southern side also continues the pattern and the main diagonals.|

|There is underground parking where the service areas are located. The car access to the building is from the northern facade where is located the main entrance. On the southern facade is placed an atrium with asymmetrical stairs connecting the different floors. The elevator is in the center of the building. And in the two corners are the fire escapes. The most of the office spaces are open areas. On the ground floor is located reception, canteen and lounge area. On each floor there are entertainment rooms, meeting rooms and smoking areas. On the roof terrace is the conference hall, multimedia room, lounge area, cafe and open terrace.|

The Russian pavilion is concept project for pavilion of Russia in Mini world Expo in Copenhagen. The idea behind the pavilion is in the design of the Russian dolls – matrioshka. The pavilion reminds the form of 5 dolls merged into each other. The structure would be temporary – made of glass with different applications on the walls. The applications on the facades are taken from famous Russian avaunt guard painters and traditional Russian motives. The building will be in use for 1 year and will be situated in North West Copenhagen near a lake. The construction will have two floors. On the first floor the visitors will access the pavilion – there will be the reception and toilet as well as exhibition space. On the second floor will be exhibition space and bar for the visitors.

Proposal for office interior of the architecture studio 2APH in renovated industrial building in Horsens, Denmark. The main idea of the interior is to advertise the name with the furniture. The desks have continuous form shaping the number 2 – part of the name and the rest APH letters are placed on different places on the walls and on the desks itself.

The method of construction of these houses will be prefabricated modular building. The method of construction is more and more used, because it is cheaper and faster way of building. This means though that in the process of design the architect is constraint with simple and easy to realize shapes. I did simple design for this project and experimented at the beginning with perspective game of 3 simple volumes and their merged and exploded variation. And that is how the final design of the project was born.

The initial concept of this project is to have different rows of houses that would look the same from certain perspective. But everything will be hidden in the game of perspective of three merging volumes and others that are independent and exploded variation of the merged volumes.
